Hi, I’m Julie, the creator of Luv Ya Glasses.
I’m a Qualified Optical Dispenser, Eyewear Stylist and Colour Consultant.
I founded Luv Ya Glasses because I have a Luv of glasses and people. A perfect match for helping people look and feel their best.
Throughout my 23+ years in optical dispensing / styling nothing beats the feeling of seeing a client’s face light up when seeing themselves in a new pair of glasses that totally change their appearance, giving them confidence and inspiration to take on the world.
As a mother of 2, Nanny to 1 dear little girl and wife of 33 years to her high- school sweetheart, Julie understands and thrives on love, understanding, trust, integrity, compassion, care, empathy and forgiveness which extends to her clients through her personal and business life.
Luv Ya Glasses Story
With over 23 years of experience in Independent Optometry and diverse corporate settings, I have developed a deep understanding of client needs and a commitment to exceptional service. My extensive background has highlighted the limitations of providing personalized care within traditional frameworks, motivating me to create a service where clients can fully express their preferences for frames and lenses.
In my practice, I am dedicated to sourcing and offering tailored solutions that meet each client's unique visual and comfort requirements. I approach every client with a personalized touch, treating them like family and ensuring they have access to a range of options that cater specifically to their individual needs. My goal is to provide glasses that not only meet but exceed expectations, reflecting both their style and visual needs.
I identified a gap in my local area for distinctive and high-quality eyewear after a request from my hairdresser, Peta, for a red, square frame. I knew exactly where to find such a frame: from the esteemed Australian designer and manufacturer, John Van Staveren of Van Staveren Eyewear. Upon reaching out, John was enthusiastic about supplying his unique, high-quality frames.
To complement these exceptional frames, I sought lenses of the same caliber. I contacted Essilor Australia in Sydney, and they were equally supportive of my vision for a bespoke and personalized eyewear business.
The COVID-19 lockdown further underscored the need for accessible optical care, particularly for individuals in over-55 villages who might lack family support. To address this, I began offering home visits and established a consulting room within the village, ensuring continued care for those in need despite business closures.
WHAT WILL BE MY BUSINESS NAME?
One night, as I found myself awake at 2 a.m., inspiration struck in the quiet of the early hours. Amidst the tranquility, the idea for my business name came to me: "Luv Ya Glasses." It's a name that captures the affection people often express for their favorite eyewear. Eager to preserve this spark of creativity, I quickly jotted it down before returning to sleep. The next morning, I conducted a search and discovered that the name was available. Thus, “Luv Ya Glasses” was born, embodying both my passion for personalized eyewear and the heartfelt connection clients have with their glasses.
LUV YA GLASSES NEEDS A SHOWROOM
In 2022, as my collection expanded to over 300 optical and sunglass frames, transporting them along with my optical equipment became increasingly impractical. To address this, I established a beautiful, peaceful, and private showroom nestled amidst bushland on acreage at 4494 Nelson Bay Rd, Anna Bay, NSW. This luxurious and relaxing space allows clients to explore a wide selection of frames in a tranquil setting, enhancing their overall experience.
